In the event of a CP4 failure, the CP4 will start to shed metal shavings and metal contaminants into the fuel system towards your injectors. Since the LML runs a closed-loop system (meaning the fuel cycles directly back to your fuel pump without being filtered again), it doesn’t take long to wreak serious havoc on your injectors. If (or when) this happens to you, it’s not just the pump that needs replacing, it’s your pump, all 8 injectors, fuel regulator, and you will need both fuel rails cleaned or replaced.
